What is Filelight
A complete online solution; a Filelight site allows you to place files online for your customers, in a secure environment from which they can then download to their computers.
What does it look like?
Filelight is branded with your company logo and colours. The site is unique to your company, and your customers will see it as an extension of your existing web presence.
How do I place files online?
As a site owner, you have an administrator account that you use to log into the system. Once in, after creating accounts for your customers, you simply upload a file using the File Upload tool and assign the file to the relevant customer.
How does my customer get the file?
The customer will be sent an email notification that a file has been uploaded by you to their area, after which they can follow the link and log in using the username and password you will have created their account with.
What if a customer wants to send me a file?
Not a problem. There are two levels of accounts you can create. One is a download only account, so your customer can simply log into their secure area and download files you have placed online for them. The second level is an account that allows your customer also upload files back for you. It’s perfect for sending files back and forth with your customers.
Does the file disappear when it’s downloaded?
No, you can leave the file on a customer’s account so they can access it at a later stage. Files will remain available in Filelight for up to 30 days before the system will remove them. Obviously you can choose to remove files earlier if you wish, to make more room for other files.
What if I have a problem? Do you offer support?
Yes! If you have a problem, you can contact Searchlight directly and they will look into the problem for you. Further details of the support are provided on sign up.

We’re always looking to improve the system and are always keen to hear feature ideas from our customers. Simply let us know what you’d like the system to be able to do. A number of the features added so far have been requested by existing customers, almost always at no charge to the customer.
How much does it cost?
Filelight is competitively priced at £300.00 a year per site. There is no set up charge, and the design work and customisation (to fit it in with your business colours and logo’s) is done free of charge. For more information please see the Detailed Pricing page.
